Rule #2

Rule #3
Take Care of the Customer

G & C Supply Co., Inc. was founded in 1974 and has long been a leader in wholesale distribution. It began as G & C Waterworks as Bill Greenway, wife Kay and one employee operated from a small building that remains the heart of the business today. Since the beginning, we have grown from those original 3 employees to a total staff of 67 and from the original 450 square feet to well over 60,000 square feet of warehouse space today. In 1985, Mr. Greenway added natural gas supplies to the water and sewer product lines. In 1989 he added the Sign & Safety Division. As a result of these changes, Mr. Greenway changed the company name to it’s current designation, G & C Supply Co., Inc.

In 2001, Mr. Greenway felt G & C could be even more diversified by adding the Fire, Rescue and Safety Equipment Sales and Service Division. We currently service the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois and Missouri from our single warehouse location in Atwood, TN.

On July 12, 2002, Mr. Bill Greenway passed away leaving his wife, Mrs. Kay Greenway as the major stockholder. Ms. Kay passed her title of sec./treas. to their elder daughter, Gina Burton and assumed the title of president. Another daughter, Pam Dowdy, is also employed by G & C. It should be noted that Mrs. Greenway and both daughters have been actively engaged in management of the company for many years prior to Mr. Greenway’s demise. The vice-president of G & C is Mr. Tom Shaw, an employee of the company since 1986 and has assisted in all of G & C’s endeavors.

G & C has inside as well as outside sales personnel specifically assigned to each division 1.) Water, Sewer and Gas 2.) Signs and Safety 3.) Fire, Rescue and Safety Equipment Sales and Service. We have found that in doing so affords us the ability to better serve our customers as well as allowing us to approach potential sales in each division with equal enthusiasm and determination. In addition, we also employ the method of assigning inside salespersons to territories so that we can better establish and nurture customer relations.

I suppose that to sum up the nature of G & C is best said by stating that we do things the old fashion way, we offer our customers what they want, for an affordable price and delivery that meets their needs. Our motto was and is “Striving To Serve”.
